Nintendo is an international company who
manufactured through subsidiary companies during the Game & Watch era. The
first 4 games created were actually not Game & Watch handhelds, but were made
under the series Time Out from Mego Corp. Nintendo was the producer of the
handhelds, but they did not distribute. After a short run of about half a year
(1980), Nintendo decided they needed to enhance their company and start
producing and distributing through their own name. This resulted in the
transfer from Mego, to Nintendo under the series Game & Watch.
(All four games produced under Mego Corp. were
re-named and turned into Game & Watch titles)
